Building a 21st Century Education
- The son of a Virginia public school teacher, B-J Huff learned the importance of a quality, public education at a young age and he will be a tireless advocate for exceptional schools. B-J will fight for the necessary resources to recruit and retain the best teachers, and will work to bring new technologies into our classrooms so that our students get a 21st century education to compete in the global economy.
Reducing Congestion, Supporting Alternatives
- We all spend too much time sitting frustrated in traffic. It keeps us away from our families and friends, and it inflates the cost of doing business. We must better plan regionally to reduce traffic congestion now, prevent it in the future and improve our quality of life. As a daily commuter on the VRE, B-J Huff understands the unique challenges of commuters in our region. He will work hard for us not only to improve our roads, but also to expand
  VRE and promote alternative transportation that will take cars and trucks off the road.
Reducing Tax Burden on Families and Businesses
- Homeowners’ taxes are out of control with runaway tax assessments. Ever-increasing tax bills risk pushing people out of their own homes and are making
  the dream of homeownership more difficult. B-J Huff will focus spending on the core functions of city government, like education and public safety, so that we can better keep taxes low for Fredericksburg residents. As a businessman, B-J knows we must keep taxes and regulations to a minimum in order to bring more jobs, investment and opportunities to our community.
Preserving our Community
- B-J Huff believes that Fredericksburg’s historic character is vital to our region and must be preserved for future generations. He will protect that character, including the Rappahannock River. As a strong conservationist and someone who has worked promoting environmentally friendly products, B-J will be a voice for protecting green spaces and our River.
